Merchant account

Learn about merchant account creation, activation, your account settings, security and ops.

Sign up

  • Go to the Merchant registration page and provide sufficient details.

  • Click on the send OTP button after entering the email address.

  • Enter 6 digit OTP received over the email and hit on the register button.

  • Upon successful registration, you will be logged in automatically and your plan, a subscription will get generated.

Sign in

  • Go to the Merchant login page and enter a valid email and password.

  • Upon successful login, you will receive a login alert over the email.

Account activation

You must activate your account to access the nector. To activate the account, you must first fill in details about your business and upload the required documents. Follow the steps below:

  • Go to your Merchant profile and click on the edit button in the KYC section and provide all details needed.

  • Once you are done with KYC details, click on the docs button and upload supporting KYC documents.

  • Once all documents are uploaded hit the submit button.

  • You are all done now, once we receive the KYC details we shall contact you for further details and activate your nector account. After successful verification, a virtual currency (MOIN) will get generated for your business which shall be used for creating user wallets on nector.

Once your account is KYC verified you can start with the setup process. By default, you are in the production environment. Click on the toggle button to access the test environment. Use the test environment to familiarise yourself with the dashboard, explore how to integrate, and also use it to test the products before starting to use the products in the production environment.

Fields marked as "*" in the dashboard are required

Environments

nector supports two environments DEV and PROD, it is recommended to test your application in DEV before going live.

Toggling the switch button will change the environment. When the toggle button is OFF (shows DEV), the dashboard will point to https://devplatform.nector.io/ and when its ON (shows PROD) https://platform.nector.io/

Merchant overview

Merchant can overview the stats about users (leads) added, how many rewards given, how many deals have been redeemed from the Merchant overview

API Key

Once KYC is approved, an API key can be created as follows:

  • Go to Merchant APIs and click on the create button.

  • Enter the name of the API and hit the create button on the popup.

  • Copy the API secret somewhere safe.

  • In order to create a new API key, you need to delete the existing API first, if exists.

Allowed IP

Allowed IP helps in restricting access to your dashboard or API key and a new IP can be added as follows:

  • Go to Merchant Allowed IPs and click on the create button.

  • Enter the source (DASHBOARD or API) and IP address and hit the create button on the popup.

  • When restricting access to the dashboard kindly make sure you have access to that IP address, else the panel will be locked, in such cases kindly contact us for further steps.

Deals

Deals are a way of presenting offers to your customer. There are a total of 4 types of deals we support.

  • Public deals: These deals are the same as promo codes. There is no inventory for these types of deals, they can be created either by merchants or our partners and are publicly visible. (Apply promo code MAX80 to get $80 off)

  • Private deals: These deals are designed to cater to the merchant-specific audience, Only merchants can create private deals. The idea is to allow merchants to offer different deals to users for joining their platform or buying their paid services and is visible to merchant users. (signup now and get a free subscription for XYZ app for 3 months, switch to the pro version, and get $150k worth of deals)

  • General deals: These are regular deals added by our partners are publicly visible. (get 30% off on XYZ brand, buy 1 get 1 free, get 20% off on subscription)

  • Exclusive deals: These deals are added by our partner brands are publicly visible.

  • Go to Merchant deals and click on the create button.

  • Fill in all the required details. [deal name, deal sell price (should be 0 for public deals)]

  • Scroll down and click on the create button on the popup.

  • To find deals, click the filter button, fill the field based on search criteria, and hit the filter button on the popup.

Coupon codes

These are the codes that are attached to the deals, each deal can have one or more coupon code(s).

Deals of type public cannot have coupon codes There are three ways to create a coupon code:

  • Regular: - Create one coupon code at a time. - Go to Merchant coupon codes and click on the create button. - Fill in the details [deal id, coupon code] and hit the create button on the popup.

  • Bulk generate: - Generate n number of coupon codes. - Go to Merchant coupon codes and click on the bulk generate button. - Fill in the details [deal id, count (Maximum is 1000 at a time)] and hit the create button on the popup and the system will generate automatically. (one can enter the value in the coupon code field, all generated coupon codes will have this code)

  • Bulk upload: - Bulk creates n number of coupon codes from the CSV file. - Go to Merchant coupon codes and click on the bulk upload button. - Fill in the details [deal id, upload a CSV file (Maximum is 10000 entries at a time)] and hit the create button on the popup and the system will create coupon codes automatically.

Coupons

Coupons are generated when a user gets a reward or they buy a deal using their wallet points. Each coupon is attached to a deal and a coupon code. (if the deal is not a public deal)

Coupon should be created through API calls from merchant application, website, or server, however, in case of failure in creation, follow:

  • Go to Merchant coupons and click on the create button.

  • Fill in the required details [deal id, lead id, and currency id (this represents from which currency wallet, points will be debited)] and hit the create button on the popup.

Task

Tasks are nothing but campaigns, the main idea is to engage users in completing the task and thereby increasing user engagement of your platform.‌ A simple example of a task can be, book 7 rides a month and get 100 points and then redeem 100 points for deals offered by us or created by your platform, or pay 3 bills in a month to get a scratch card.

Task completion rewards can be of two types, wallet points or deals.

  • Go to Merchant tasks and click on the create button.

  • Fill in the required details [task name, currency id (this represents to which currency wallet, points will be credited), task type (select deal to reward deals or wallet to reward wallet points), count (after how many task activities, a task should to considered as completed), min amount, max amount] and hit the create button on the popup.

Task activities

Task activities are a way of tracking progress on a task. The task will be marked as completed when all activities are created and on completion, the user will get rewarded based on the task.

Task activities should be created through API calls from merchant application, website, or server, however, in case of failure in creation, follow:

  • Go to Merchant task activities and click on the create button.

  • Fill in the required details [task id, lead id] and hit the create button on the popup.

Swap

Swaps are a way of sharing wallet points or resources among merchant customers. Two merchants can get into a swap contract and facilitate their customers to interchange wallet points, a swap contract is a set of rules and limits for wallet point swap between two merchants.

Leads

Leads are the users of a merchant. Merchant must create a lead account for each user. Leads should be created through API calls from merchant application, website, or server, however, in case of failure in creation, follow:

  • Go to Merchant leads and click on the create button.

  • Fill in the required details [name, email | mobile (one of them is required), country, DOB] and hit the create button on the popup. (Email and Mobile can be any dummy value like [email protected], a valid unique number between 4 to 12 digits, but must follow the email and mobile format)

  • Either email or mobile is required.

Wallets

Wallets must be created for every merchant user (lead). A user can have more than one wallet, depending upon the number of currencies the merchant supports. The wallet keeps track of wallet points rewarded to users for various actions they perform.

Wallets should be created through API calls from merchant application, website, or server, however, in case of failure in creation, follow:

  • Go to Merchant wallets and click on the create button.

  • Fill in the required details [lead id, currency id] and hit the create button on the popup.

Wallet transactions

Each wallet will have wallet transactions, they show various transactions attached to a wallet.

There are two types of wallet transaction reward and redeem. Merchant can create only reward transactions through API calls, whereas redeem transactions are created automatically on coupon redeem.

Wallet transactions should be created through API calls from merchant application, website, or server, however, in case of failure in creation, follow:

  • Go to Merchant wallet transactions and click on the create button.

  • Fill in the required details [wallet id, amount, hash] and hit the create button on the popup.

Currencies

These are the currencies supported by the merchant. Currencies are created by admin upon request from the merchant (In the DEV mode a currency called MOIN will get created upon KYC verification). Each currency will have its own conversion factor related to system currency called COIN.

Merchant can view and contact admin to update details about currencies or ask to add or remove currencies. Go to Merchant currencies to view the list of currencies

Uploads

Merchant can create uploads against a deal, task, swap, and KYC. It's like attaching images to your deal, task or uploading KYC docs and swap contract agreements.

Uploads shall be created from the merchant dashboard, follow:

  • Go to Merchant uploads and click on the create button.

  • Fill in the required details [parent id, parent type, name] and click on the "+" sign at the bottom of the popup to attach the file(s) you can attach up to 5 files (This will create 5 uploads at once with the same name) and a maximum of 7 uploads for parent type and parent id combination, once done hit the create button on the popup.

Merchant can view the stats about users (leads) added, how many rewards given, how many deals have been redeemed from the Merchant overview

Notifications

Notifications are generated for various events on nector. Click on the notification icon button on the header to view all the notifications.

Login activities

Login activities are created after a successful login attempt and an email is fired to notify the user (lead). Click on the login activities icon button on the header to view all the login activities.

A merchant can report login activity by clicking on the action icon (three lines vertically) and choosing report from the option list, this action will freeze the merchant account.

A merchant account can be unfrozen by contacting support.
